Miami Tribe #633, families and friends, met at Red Lobster in Richmond to celebrate National Red Men's Week and the paleface holiday season.
The entire evening was be spent with food and fellowship.

Oshawanee Tribe #220's Annual Ed Kolb's Memorial Raffle was a great success. The winners were Daniel Kolb, Brian Bowman, Geremy Graf, John Dendler, and John Skidmore.
All 300 tickets were sold. After their expense, the tribe will have a nice amount to donate to local charities.
Gary W. Marmouze, Sr., of the Oshawanee Tribe #220 was elected as the Great Sachem at the Great Sun Council of the Improved Order of Red Men on November 9, 2024, in Richmond, Indiana.
The 2024 Bullseye "Expert" Award went to the Oshawanee Tribe #220 of Brookville. The Expert Award is an Indiana Award for the tribe that has the largest growth in membership. George Ferriell, Past Great Sachem, was awarded Red Man of the Year by the Great Sun Council of Indiana for 2024. This award was presented by Great Sachem Larry Helmsing at the banquet at the Old Richmond Inn in Richmond, Indiana.
The Great Council of the United States presented four "Recognizing Greatness" awards to four Indiana members.
"Our program will be one that recognizes outstanding projects, tribes, councils, members, Pocahontas, and Sachems" (see the June newsletter page 2, for details).
Award winners above were Sumner Hunnewell, Roy Johns, Gary McElwaine, and Malcolm Greene.
Billy Poythress, Great Council of the United States, presented the winners with pins.
The Miami Tribe #633 took part promoting the Imp'd O. R. M. at Richmond's annual 4th Street Fair. The event took place during October 5-6 in the Old Richmond Historical District.
On August 16, Past Great Sachem and Keeper of Records of Miami Tribe #633, George Ferriell, met with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb. As Chairman of the Board of the Bath State Bank, George met and talked with the Governor after accepting the Century Award for the bank, which has been business for 100 years.
At the Oshawanee Tribe's August Meeting, P.G.I. Malcolm Greene presented Sachem Michael Froman with a Past Sachem's Certificate. Michael is a 40-year member of Oshawanee Tribe #220 of Brookville.
Miami Tribe #633 met at the Richmond Inn with family before their installation of officers on July 8.

For the past two years, the Franklin County 4-H Association has been raising money for their new exhibit building. Oshawanee Tribe #220 donated $100 for each I-D block. The tribe also donated $1000 last year and another $1000 this year, up to date our total donations are $2200. The new building will be open in July for the 4-H fair.
Oshawanee Tribe #220 will sponsor a Veterans Walk for local Veterans on
Saturday, July 13, at 9:47 a.m. The walk will be at the Brookville Town Park.
The starting point will be Poppers Shelter, located close to the river.
Participants can walk lower track (1.1 mile) close to the river or upper track Codiano Field (.25 mile).
The Tribe will have cold bottles of water.

Oshawanee Tribe #220 will sponsor a Euchre Tournament April 20th. We hope to sign up new members at this event. If you like to play cards bring a partner and join us. All members and all potential members will get a free chicken dinner. No entry fee, No buy in, No gambling. But we will have prize money. Most points, 1st place $50. 2nd place $25. Most loans $25.

The Order of Pocahontas is the Red Men fraternal group for ladies and men. The Degree of Pocahontas is based upon the legend of native American Indian woman, Pocahontas, and welcomes women and men that support the traditional values and goals of the Improved Order of Red Men. The Degree of Pocahontas supports the local and national charities of the Red Men. All the members of the Order of Pocahontas in Indiana will be consolidated into Araminta Council #380 at Monticello, Indiana. Araminta Council will be affiliated with the Great Council of Ohio Red Men.

Oshawanee Tribe #220 of the Red Men held their Annual Ed Kolbs Memorial Raffle in November. There were five guns on the raffle. The winners were, 1st prize Penny Harrison, 2nd prize Dave Fohl, 3rd prize Ken Pennington, 4th prize Mike Cohldsdorf, and 5th prize Rocky Marig. The proceeds from the raffle were donated as follows: $500 to the Local Boy Scouts of America Troop 45, $500 to Brookville Fire Department for new radios, $1000 to Franklin County 4-H Exhibit Building and $1000 to The Red Men’s Endowment for the Maple Grove Cemetery.
